Around 1973, I saw an old black and white movie from the 30’s or 40’s on TV with astral projection as the theme. I’ve since tried to rediscover this movie but to no avail. I’ve also tried to find someone who is involved with movies and/or Hollywood to try to help me.
The gist of the movie is where there is a wonderful young couple newly married. I don’t remember specifics, but somehow, the husband inadvertently becomes involved in a crime. He is sentenced to prison for a very long time. There’s nothing either the wife or the husband can do to change his fate. So the couple decides to use astral projection to be together. If you can discover this movie’s title and year, I’d appreciate it. ????
Jim Shane.. I saw a similar b&w movie years ago. Except the AP was jailed for a murder he didn’t commit and he learned to AP in prison and used it to get revenge on those who framed him. Eventually a detective caught on to the AP and what he was doing. Eventually the detective convinced others of what was going on and set a trap for the AP to be projecting. While the AP was out of body and away from it, the detective had the body declared dead and cremated immediately before the AP returned. Once the AP realized his body no longer existed, he became violent and attacked the detective who was prepared to ritualize the spirit. Into the spiritual world forever.
Pretty rough stuff for a 1950s movie.
I saw a film called Psychic Killer (1975) sounds exactly like what you describe even the cremation at the end.. he comes back into his body as the door to the cremation chamber closes.. could be a remake of the 50’s b/w movie you saw.
